SA: More than 80 arrested on quiet New Year s Eve, police say

More than eighty people were arrested during what police describe as a quiet New Year's
Eve in Adelaide overnight.

A police spokesman says the arrests were mainly for minor offences.

About 50 people were arrested as an estimated 170,000 people gathered in the city to
welcome in the New Year and join in on the post-Le Mans Series motor race celebrations.

Another 19 people were arrested as a 40,000-strong crowd partied in the beachside suburb
of Glenelg and 11 people were arrested in Adelaide's northern suburbs with small …
