NSW: Police want to speak to man over attempt to grab child
SYDNEY, Aug 13 AAP - Police are looking for a man dressed as a woman who allegedly
attempted to grab a young girl in a western Sydney store.
The girl, believed to be about 10 years old, was in a haberdashery store on Pitt Street,
Merrylands, when she was approached by the man at about 1.50pm (AEST) yesterday, police
said.
The child screamed and her parents took her from the store.
Customers who saw the incident reported it to staff who contacted police, but the man
left the store before they arrived.
The girl's parents have not reported the incident to police.
Investigators said today they wanted to talk to the man and the child's parents.
A customer in the store at the time described the man as very tall with blond hair.
He was wearing a black denim skirt, dark blue denim jacket, platform shoes and carried
a handbag.
Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
